At least eight police officers were injured during a parade in Northern Ireland where members of the protestant Orange Order were commemorating a 17th-Century battle on a street in north Belfast.
Police responded with water cannon and rubber bullets, and a helicopter was dispatched to monitor the scene.
Clashes broke out as police moved in to prevent the march from diverting off its approved route.
More than three thousand police officers were deployed at marches across Northern Ireland.
